About Croatia Croatia is a country located in Southern Europe with its capital in Zagreb. Croatia from the south west has access to the warm and clear Adriatic Sea. It is bordered on the east by Serbia and Hungary, and Slovenia to the north and to the south of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. Croatia from 1st July, 2013 has become a member of the European Union. Croatia's land area is 56 594 square kilometres, sea area territorial waters of Croatia are 31 067 km².
